Market services turnover indices

How services are doing month by month — 41,934 values, from 12 TEMPO matrices in the PSC family, all with base year 2021 = 100. Services to households since 2005, services to enterprises since 2010 (value) and since 2015 (production).

⚠️ The two beneficiaries have nothing in common. populatie has 9 branches (hotels, restaurants, travel agencies, hairdressing, games of chance), intreprinderi has 28 positions (transport, communications, IT, consultancy, advertising). They are not two cuts of the same whole and do not go into the same series.

⚠️ Not every indicator exists for every beneficiary: households have volum and valoric, enterprises valoric and productie. Requested otherwise, the refusal is explicit, with the list.

⚠️ The three adjustments are THE SAME series, processed differently. Measured on total services to households, 2015–2024: the raw series has a mean range of 48.5 points within a year, the working-day adjusted one 48.6 — the calendar correction does not touch the season — and the seasonally adjusted one 21.4. Picked at random, they give different pictures of the same month.

⚠️ The source has the titles swapped on two matrices. PSC1076, called „adjusted for working days and seasonality", deviates from the raw series by 0.469 points on average; PSC1075, called „adjusted for the number of working days", deviates by 8.054. The twin volume family, where the titles are correct, gives exactly the same orders of magnitude on the matching matrices. We mapped them by what they contain, not by what they are called, so that ajustare means the same thing everywhere.

⚠️ The groupings are weighted averages, not series sitting alongside their components. Verified across all 197 months: TOTAL sits between the minimum and maximum of the other positions, and Transporturi between its four components. Indices are not additive and must not be averaged unweighted.

PSC1075, titled "adjusted for the number of working days", deviates by 8.054 on average (max 114.40) — that is the seasonal adjustment. The twin volume family, where the titles are correct, gives exactly the same orders of magnitude on the matching matrices: 0.438 and 8.643. They are mapped by what they contain, verified numerically, not by what they are called — otherwise anyone asking for the trend series would have received the raw one.
  • ⚠️ Groupings are weighted means, not series sitting beside their components. Checked across all 197 months: TOTAL lies between the minimum and maximum of the other 27 positions, and Transporturi between its four components. Indices do not add up and do not average unweighted — the weights are not published here.
  • Not to be confused with /financiar/v1/servicii-anual, which is international trade in services (STEC and MOS, with non-residents). This is domestic market turnover.
  • Activity is requested the same way across the platform. caen takes any CAEN code, at any level and from any revision, and the route brings it to what the series publishes — climbing to a parent or translating it through the official INS correspondence; meta.caen states the requested code, the one used and whether it was climbed or converted. grupare is for the source aggregates that are not CAEN codes.

What it is for

  • The monthly state of hospitality, read off the trend series rather than the raw one.
  • How much of a monthly fall is season and how much is signal, for household services.
  • The trajectory of IT and consultancy services provided to enterprises.
  • The gap between the volume and the value index — that is, inflation within services.

meta.fara_date data is null and this says why. The projection over INS data is empty. As for the other series.
meta.fara_date_cod The short, STABLE word for the reason, for clients that branch on it in code: fara_date is prose and may be rephrased, this is not.
meta.caen[] object[] How the caen parameter was understood: the requested code, the revision it was read in and the code the route used. For a list of codes, one object per code.
meta.caen[].cerut string The CAEN code sent, normalised (upper case, no dots).
meta.caen[].versiune_cerut string The revision the code sent was read in: the one in caen_versiune, otherwise the first it exists in.
meta.caen[].folosit string The code the series used: the requested one, its first published parent or the source aggregate that contains it (02-03).
