Region detail

A development region by its NUTS-2 code (e.g. RO11): population with breakdown, area, density, and how many counties, units and localities it contains. With ?include=judete the counties come too, each with its own NUTS-3 code.

How it behaves

  • Regions have no SIRUTA code — their public key is the NUTS-2 code itself (RO11…RO42), which is why it also appears as cod_nuts. Case-insensitive.
  • ?include=judete adds the component counties, each with its own NUTS-3 code — the full NUTS hierarchy in a single response.
  • densitate is derived (population / area) and is null when the area is missing; nothing is ever divided by zero.
  • The population is the one from the census in populatie_detaliu.an, aggregated from the counties.

What it is for

  • The profile of a development region: population, area, density and how many units it contains.
  • The header of a regional report, with the component counties in a single call.
  • Joining with Eurostat datasets on the NUTS-2 code.

All errors share the same shape. eroare.cod is stable and is the value you should branch on in code — not the text in mesaj, which may change.
