Final energy consumption in industry

How much energy industry actually consumes, across 19 activities — 2,413 values, annually 1992–2024 (IND109A, IND112A, IND113A), on the same three carriers as the balance.

⚠️ The carrier is part of the series' identity, as in the balance: the same 19 activities in thousand toe, million kWh and thousand Gcal / terajoules. They are not additive across carriers.

⚠️ This is final energy consumption — energy burned as energy, not energy used as feedstock; non-energy use is a separate element in the balance, on the /balante/elemente route.

How it behaves

  • How much energy industry actually consumes, across 19 activities — 2,413 values, annual 1992-2024 (IND109A, IND112A, IND113A), on the same three carriers as the balance.
  • The carrier is part of the series identity, as in the balance: the same 19 activities in ktoe, million kWh and thousand Gcal / terajoules. They do not add up across carriers.
  • This is final energy consumption — energy burned as energy, not energy used as feedstock. Non-energy use is a separate element of the balance, at /energie/v1/balante/elemente.
  • Activity is requested the same way across the platform: caen takes any CAEN code, from any revision, and brings it to the balance activity that contains it — a division (24 metals), a group of divisions (25–30 metal products, machinery and equipment) or section F; meta.caen states what was used. grupare=industrie_inclusiv_constructii is the total. The nomenclature gives cerere on each activity.

  • See which industrial branches consume the most energy and how that changed.
  • Compare the electric and thermal consumption of the same activity.
  • Measure deindustrialisation through energy consumed rather than output.

data.granularitate string The series step. For balances it is always anual: INS publishes the balance once a year.

data.ani array The years covered, in order — the keys inside valori.
data.serii[].um_denumire string The unit of measure spelled out. Read it: series in the same response can use different units, and adding them would mean nothing.
data.serii[].ani_publicati integer How many years carry an actual value. The difference from the length of ani is the gaps in INS publication.
meta.sursa string The INS dataset the series comes from, with the source matrix.
meta.acoperire object The year range available in the database for this zone, regardless of the filter requested.
meta.serii_returnate integer How many series are in the response.
data.descriere_purtator string What that carrier covers.
data.serii[].activitate_denumire string The branch name.
meta.nota_purtator string What the requested carrier includes.
meta.nota_concept string What "industrial consumption" means at INS — it is not the whole economy's consumption.
meta.nota_sen string The relationship with the real-time data in the sen zone.
meta.nota_lista string Where the activity codes are.
meta.caen object How the caen parameter was understood: the requested code, the revision it was read in and the code the route used. For a list of codes, one object per code.
meta.caen.cerut string The CAEN code sent, normalised (upper case, no dots).
meta.caen.versiune_cerut string The revision the code sent was read in: the one in caen_versiune, otherwise the first it exists in.
meta.caen.folosit string The code the series used: the requested one, its first published parent or the source aggregate that contains it (02-03).
meta.caen.cod string The CAEN code the key used stands for, when the series names its activities differently (agricultura = 01) or the key is an aggregate (62-63).
meta.caen.nivel string The level of the code used — on company routes, of the requested code: sectiune, subsectiune, diviziune, grupa, clasa or agregat.
meta.caen.denumire string The name of the code, from the CAEN nomenclature.
meta.caen.versiune_serie string The CAEN revision the series is published in.
meta.caen.conversie boolean true when the code was translated from one revision to another through the official INS correspondence.
meta.caen.urcat boolean true when the series does not publish the requested code and a higher level was used.
